You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a
parachute to skydive twice.

Well - that is one of the better photos I have ever seen!! Love the "pose"; the shallow DOF and the B&W processing. The dog's owner (if it's not you) would be thrilled to have that capture.

Not much to add to what Doug wrote ... even the centric composition does work perfectly ...

Thanks Elsa.
As for the lens, wasn't bragging as such, it does do something special though

We happen to have a mini-Schnauzer ourselves, and the poses and attitudes these Terriers all have are a real treat. When I look at this photo, the addition of the stub of a tail just cracks me up, these dogs seem so proud at both ends.
As to your lens, i couldn't agree with you more. Even though mine is pre-VR, and weighs a ton, I still very much enjoy it.
Now, your title, where is the Look Left, eh? Truth in Advertising please!
Oh, wait, the dog is looking right, that makes ME look left, no that can't be it, can it?????

Thanks for your comments Doug, Bill and Olivier, they are appreciated.
Olivier,
you have a keen eye, I must admit the halo is not too obvious unless I view on my high contrast HP monitor,
there were light patches on the lawn and maybe I should have been a bit more careful
with my b&w conversion.
It's a nice thought, deserving dogs having halos!
