The Castle of Mery sur Oise is on my way to work. This is an example of view I am lucky to enjoy, sometimes...

As I see your kit lens "like" IR!
Fine shoot!

the moonlit center is very nice
the castle itself is rather somber
may need a lift

What a wonderful atmosphere you created here!

Very enjoyable image this is ... the tree to the right and the geometry of the path through this garden rounds it up.

I like it a lot ...

oh, and never mind the words just hum along and keep on going...

Thank you all!
Andrew: yes, the kit lens is remarkably well suited for IR, and I find VR really useful on the D80 as it is not really acceptable to increase ISO beyond 400...
Fons: the sun was not up yet, it was rather dark. I açtually like the mood given by darkness

This is excellent. Great mood captured here.

The only minor thing that I'd consider is to get rid of the bench and waste bin between the trees. Personally I find them distracting to the overall feel of the shot (although I know that this suggestion would annoy 'purists' and competition judges! ;) ).

Tasmania still destroys ancient old-growth temperate rainforest for woodchips & low grade veneer.

Thank you!
The bench and trash bin should be fairly easy to remove, I'll have a look tonight.

Keep them. They add to the ambience of the scene.

Nice IR, by the way. Like a b/w movie of the '40s. The ivy-covered tree is almost spooky in its appareance.

I have a lot of affection for this tree... It is an old sycamore under whose branches we often stay for pic-nic or just to protect from the sun during summer.
Dracula? maybe not, but the almost 900 years old castle (in its intitial version which does not exist anymore) has seen many dark days.

Thanks! This is actually a difficult time for me, sitting on my scooter on a freezing morning... But hell, Paris is 25km away, which just takes 2 or 3 hours by car in the morning!
