Last year I participated in Joe's PAW challenge and found it a demanding but rewarding experience creating 52 infrared images.
Fon's has taken over and has a inspirational collective weekly challenge running.
Olivier one of the photographers I most admire here has a wonderful 52 week portrait thread inspired by the PAW challenge.

This thread is intended to commit me to post 52 images of my home town in 2013.

Thank you Rags..... To get you and Lew to see something in the image helps me judge the shot.

Feels like taken straight from a film noir movie.
Good catch.

This does remind me of a scene from a 1950's mystery/crime movie. Nicely done.

Two very nice captures. Both evoke a sense of tension in their own way.

prefer #2 despite its imperfection meaning the figure is a bit too distant

Thank You!
The entry has history and has a sinister feel at night.... I was trying to capture that.

Bez, I do not feel this sensation of "sinister" in the first shot, maybe the background is too light and finally reinsuring for me?

I do however have a strong urge to move back when I see the second shot... This works wery well...

Thank You Fon's!
I agree the figure is small and I almost deleted the image because it did not work.... But except for cropping which loses the scale of the city, I can not improve the image even if I re-shoot. I decide the small figure conveyed how overpowering the City can feel.

Olivier,
I think you are probably right regarding #1.... I was lurking in the shadows and felt I was literally shooting my prey as they passed the intense spotlight. I expect I feel the viewer can relate to this, but there is no real reason for them to do so.

Excellent B&W work Bez. Warm but not tinted if that makes any sense.
Reminds me of well done and well printed B&W images that I'm so fond of.

Thank you James!

Funny that you commented on the look of the image, as I have been trying to get it right for the web. I process to taste on my RGB editing monitor then check the web conversion on a (bright) sRGB screen. It always looks crap in comparison, so I go back and tweak it a little.
