This was captured in colour and looked totally different.
I like the way the mono conversion seems to exaggerate the texture and shape which
looks like a mountain peak and the texture of Rhino hide, well almost :)
Please click on image for the larger view, thanks for looking.

You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a
 parachute to skydive twice.

Very sharp texture.

Looks like inside a lung...

Nice shoot!

Francis.

thanks guys for your comments.
The title was slightly misleading as it's in fact just one leaf.
I placed the leaf into a black bucket filled with water to photograph it, the ridge is caused
by the right most edge of the leaf falling beneath
the surface of the water.
I quite like this method, think I'll see what else this method reveals!

Beautifully done. An excellent example of what B&W can do.

Thanks guys for your encouraging comments, it's appreciated.

Andrew,

my copy of the 24-70afs f2.8 does seem to be very sharp, it's also, currently,
my closest focussing lens, which is why it was used!

Thanks for your encouraging comment.
At the time of shooting it was cloudy and overcast, virtually perfect actually.
