By the way, I also have a scooter for use in and around town. I have a low speed version, max. 25 km/h which you may ride without a helmet. Very convenient to use and much faster around town than a car.

Nice... A flashy green scooter, I like that... It is very trendy in Paris as well.
I drive a scooter everyday to go to work through the Parisian trafic(30 km: 2h by car, 30 mn with the scooter). It is the ugly but quite safe BMW C1 that allows me to ride without a helmet.

I ride a bike, a Moulton TSR30. I do not wear a helmet.

Thanks all for looking in. Gina wasn't available that day, so the scooter had to do the beauty department all alone. But it works
In the warm half of the year I drive a Yamaha T-Max, a great ride in town and on B-roads. In winter it's travel by car I'm afraid. But living on the outskirts of civilization, congestion is not a big issue here.

I have a photographer friend that owns one - purple - I've always meant to ask him shooting a girl in the scooter, but for one reason or another I've never mentioned it to him

So there is some logic to those number plates? IM is the region I guess. You can probably guess the location, and I miss it already....
It's a magical place. Maybe our paths cross there some time

Some would say a girl adds value to any image. And bold colors and a girl makes an striking combination. So just borrow his scooter, and arrange a shoot. And remember to post the results here.

You are correct, in the old style (up to 1994) the first two letters indicated the province ("Provincia"), in this case Imperia.

After so many holidays in Italy I trust you are good enough reading Italian.

There were different numbers for 4-wheeled vehicles ("autoveicoli") and for 2-wheeled ones ("motoveicoli"); for the latter engines up to 50cc for a while did not have a plate and now have a very small one, quite different from those used on cars and motorbikes.

Nice image Frank. A bit nostalgic for me. I still have my white 1963 model Vespa 160cc GS model in a shed. It still goes - but last ran it about 5 years ago.

I don't beilere in museum pieces, so I think it deserves a little time out in the open. A little cleaning, oil, and some open road......
