I am a photographer from Cape Town South Africa, I particularly like people photography - but equally enjoy the challenge of doing something new. It is hard to come up with new challenges for yourself on a consistent basis.
About the Winning image:
The image captured
I sat early every morning waiting for the arrival of the babies, and then again to capture them. Mostly, the only time the light allowed me to shoot was sunrise. There are three babies in this shot. Baby grebes cant swim when they hatch. they have to learn. Therefor the parents feed them.
I was fascinating to watch and shoot these birds, and I sat for hours, always hoping for a better shot. After about 900 shots over a couple of days - I decided to walk away and work with what I have. It wasnt easy. Used the 200-400 and I think the 1.4 TC. I wish I had a 600 for this.
