a re-edit which I like, any thoughts/comments appreciated.
I really like the colours in the water which are natural, and the way they are rendered by the D3. The smoothness of the water and the crispness of the
solitary leaf are a nice contrast I feel.
I also think it's a good visual demonstration of surface tension!

Nikon 200-400f4 zoom and tc14e, a very crisp combination!

Thanks for looking, please click for the larger view.

You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a
 parachute to skydive twice.

lovely contrast between the 'crisp' (=insanely sharp!) leaf and the dreamy water

Lovely shot. All you have to do now is make the leaf red in post and really make it pop. Beautiful creamy water reflection though. That's my favourite thing to shoot is fall leaves in water. Regards, Gerry

Tony, I feel that you have met your stated objective! I like the contrast and the "fluidity," too!

Thanks very much guys for your comments.
I'm always amazed how simple compositions often meet with such encouraging comments, maybe simple is often best, lol.
Thanks again

This is stunning to me. The leaf penetrates the water which is mercurial. Love this.
