For the birds!
I put out food for that skunk hoping to get a better shot but he stole the food while my back was turned so i shot this tree instead.

This is a hectic period with a heavy influx of new pictures. From the picture-stream I selected this one done on the D800 and depicting a rock face with trickling water across it. Colours were truly vibrant and intense. Lots of chemical reactions going on as acid water trickled down the rock surface.

Nordic Summer night. (The trees were polite enough not to fall into the lake while the picture was taken.)

14-24/2.8 at 14mm on a D3s. Did not bring a tripod so the speed was 1/80, iso 900, f/6.3, SB-910 on camera, -1/3 ev.

Week 41: Alaskan roadside grasses can take on a very pleasing appearance at this time of the year - just a quick photo before my D5100 goes in for register adjustment, I would have wanted it with more back-light, but wind did not cooperate to provide the right angle for that (view large).

Btw, a fascinating shot of the rock face you've posted. The blue color is very intense - almost like Cobalt.
