Considering parting with mine as it is not getting enough usage.
What would be a fair price for boxed version?

Considering the latest *Bay sales I'd say anything in excess of 2500 USD is fair.
Unless you want to sell it to me, then a modest 700 USD is fair

I would rather sell it here where I know it would be put to the good use and have all love and care it deserves than putting it on *bay.

I payed EUR600 for mine a while ago, but the going rate seems to be $2500-3000
currently. Ebay takes about 10%, so $2250-2700 (EUR1700-2000) seems fair

I would love one, but couldn't realistically pay much more than $1700ish. You would really probably do best for yourself selling it on Ebay. I would hope anyone willing to pay the Ebay prices would intend to get good use out of the lens.

Yes, it is with Nikon mount.

The type of mount makes a significant price difference at Ebay. M42 appear to be on the cheap side, Nikon F-Mount unfortunately lead the list when it comes to expensiveness :-(

Interested in your Voigtlander Lanthar 125mm lens for Nikon. It would go to a very good and loving home.

Buy it now, just listed for $2K. Bidding is presently low. In the US.

Seller suddenly moves from cheap car parts to peddling esoteric lenses? Hm. Smells to my nose.

Yep, "smells fishy."
I thought of that too. He does appear to be extremely active.

The upcoming new Zeiss 135mm f/2.0 is a good alternative to this lens despite its 1:4 limitation as a macro lens if the intent is to have a dual-use lens also usable for portrait shots. In addition to having a more robust build, it will be priced lower and can be purchased new with warranty support.

The lens is not an alternative to the CV-125. It is not a macro lens.

For many purposes it could be an alternative - and _could_ be a good macro with extension tubes.
It is all speculation though, since the lens is not yet released - but I also think it is best to wait for this lens before shelling out insane amount of cash for the Voigtlander...

Nfoto stated in a thread that dealt specifically with this comparison:
"Adding extension to a lens *not* designed for that purpose *will* adversely impact the image quality. The widespread belief that an extension ring is "without glass hence won't influence quality" is fundamentally flawed. The extension will push the optics into a set of conjugate distances it is not meant to operate within. The result is usually loss of sharpness and increased chromatic an/or spherical aberration.
I don't doubt the new Zeiss lens will show itself a fine performer, but it is designed for other tasks than the Macro-Lanthar."

No, the situation is not that simple. The Voigtlander itself has lower quality image closely focused. A very high quality telephoto might still be spectacular on tubes.
