Good idea. My week has been diverted away from photography, or rather, directed towards the reality and chores of a digital photographer. Add to that a (lucrative) web development assignment, a RAID controller going berserk in the darkness of the night necessitating an extensive rebuild of my media server, a power outage that destroyed my backup tape while I was doing the rebuild of the server, and you get the overall picture. Not my finest hours to put it mildly, but once you get though the crisis you feel a slight degree of elevation.
Here's an overview from my den in which some of these drab realities of digital photography are addressed and hopefully, find their solutions.![]()

Having taken a closer look at the picture: what is the thing to the left of the mug?
Hope it has nothing to do with the rebuild of the media server.
