So, tell me what is good, and what isn't good about these shots. Basically, I'm trying to keep busy til my next model shoot.

All shot w/D200/18-200VR handheld.

I like Steve... Allow me to address each one individually.

#1: I like what you did with the clouds and the boat is a nice focal point. But, what is that on the horizon, dead center? It's very distracting. I'd clone it out. It's not a needed part of this scene.

#2: I really like how dark/under exposed this shot turned out. Gives the sun a place in the shot. Maybe take a small bit off the top and left side. Other than that... nothing else is needed.

#3: Doesn't really do much for me. But, I can maybe see this as a port with just the palm and the boardwalk. I've done huge crops, to make what I like, in PP. Might give that a shot. Let me know if you'd like to see my take/crop on this...

BTW, thanks for putting these up Steve. I also know what I like, what I need help with and what I really sux @. Hope you enjoy your scapes now... and in the future...

I think all three of them quite good. some minor points that disturb me...... in the first one it is the noise in the dark cloud and what Dallas already mentioned is the not straight horizon.

Now that I also have a SRL :

I am very interested in the settings and at the moment especially the ISO. I would like to know why for one sunset ISO 800 is used and the other 100. For the bottom photo ISO 400 is used, is that because of the dark foliage?

I'm no expert either, but to my eye number 3 needs more foreground showing the bottom of the fence and to "finish" the walkway. Of course that may have been removed since what was in front of, or at the bottom of the fence was unsightly.

Just a casual shooter here. My guess is you want to show the pattern of the woodway against the bush and the palm (oh, are you looking for photos to submit to the current challenge?). If I guess right, I think the POV needs to be higher to "emphasize" the walkway and its pattern as a focal point. Some golden light or more contrast light would help bring out it too. I would also crop the sky away. My 2 cents.
