Nikongear Safari 2013
Nikongear.com presents a group photographic safari in association with www.photographers.travel and Nature Uncut Tours

Spots Available:
Official Tour Dates: 31 August - 13 September 2013
Join us on a photographic road trip from Cape town to Windhoek, taking in the splendour of the wild spring flowers of Namaqualand on the Western coastline of South Africa, the massive sand dunes of the Sossusvlei, the desolate beauty of the Namibian Coast and the spectacular landforms of Damaraland. A landscape photographer's paradise! Namibia is a spectacular country - known for its dramatic and unusual landforms - and it truly lives up to its name as the "Land of Contrasts".
Between Cape Town and Namibia, lies the lesser known region of Namaqualand - an area which comes alive for a few weeks every Spring with carpets of colourful daisies and an abundance of bulbs - the richest variety in the world. We have arranged this tour specifically to coincide with the flower season, enabling us to view and photograph this wonderful spectacle en route, which attracts photographers from all over the world.
This tour not only gives you the opportunity to visit some of the most spectacular and photographed spots in Africa, but also to enjoy the company of other photography enthusiasts.
The tour will be led by Pepe Jones and depending on the number of participants a second vehicle driven by Dallas Dahms will be added. We need at least 4 people onboard to make the trip possible.
Who Should Come?
If you have an interest in dramatic scenery or spectacular displays of flowers, you will be in the right company and in the right places for some amazing photo opportunities if you join us on this safari. This is a trip for anyone who enjoys the company of other photographers and who is at any level of experience with their cameras.
This trip doesn't have official workshops or a tuition element built into it, but on all our previous trips we have seen a very positive sharing of information between the various levels of photographers. Your guides, Pepe & Dallas would be most happy to share their knowledge as well. You may meet as strangers, but we hope you'll part as great friends: just ask those who came on our first Nikongear.com safari in 2009 and who are still visiting one another in Europe, 3 years later! On a Nikongear.com safari it's all about being in the right company and doing the things that photographers love to do.
We have deliberately chosen not to focus on wildlife for this part of the tour, but we are offering an optional 6-night extension after the main tour for wildlife enthusiasts. This includes the world renowned Etosha National Park and Okonjima Lodge, home of the Africat Foundation. Alternatively if a desert game reserve doesn't appeal to you, we can always arrange for you to spend some time with our friends at Sabi Sabi in the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve adjacent to the Kruger National Park immediately after the official group trip ends.
For those interested in spending some time in Cape Town, we recommend arriving 2 or 3 days early and joining us for a few days of photography in and around this beautiful city, including the option of photographing whales and possibly also Great White sharks breaching with Elsa Hoffmann and her friends.
