    We've been a subscription site for going on 2 years now and while we haven't exactly been lighting up the world with new members or content, people seem to like it here. We're not dying as many thought we would when I introduced this paywall policy. I believe the community is still as strong as ever, pleasantly vocal but still moderate and very mindful of our code of conduct.   Being independent of any sponsorship gives us a kind of maverick appeal and I like that. I like not having to cow tow to any big companies. I am also going to be throwing in the towel on all affiliate marketing...
