Nominated by Bilbo999
“I really like Tuna’s Art. The composition and timing of this shot is great. I like the B&W conversion and the grain.
I keep thinking that the person is thinking about entering the photo.”
Chosen by Erik Lund
“Tunas art get the POTW this week, a great capture lots of things for the eye to watch and great timing.
The square framing adds to the graphical mood.”

Nominated by Andreas (afx):
“After seeing the Kite images from Søren (slm) in this thread http://nikongear.com/smf/index.php?topic=23665.0
I doubt I will find anything today that can top this for me. My big problem is deciding which image form this excellent series. All of them are great because of the color and the perfection in rendering. The image below is the 6th of the series. I nominate it because it is one of those rare perfect wildlife shots where colors and interaction are just brilliant.”
Chosen by Charlie:
“It is a tough call between Søren’s Kite image (afx nomination) and Carsten’s Kite Buggy which is an otherworldly scene. Both are spectacular scenes where the timing of the photographers play a very important role. I choose Søren’s Kite image, a technically superb capture. I quite enjoy the head screaming out of a pile of feathers.”

Nominated by annedi (Andrea Blum):
Olivier’s A Present for My Wife is such a wonderful set of individual portraits –
natural, fun, and excellently photographed.
After assembly into the grid with just the right amount of PS softened edging,
the portraits combine to show the joy and happiness this family shares.
The use of Black & White keeps the assembly from overwhelming the viewer’s eye
and allows the eye to travel well through the grid.
Color in this kind of work would be a bit overwhelming, IMHO.
And there’s Olivier himself in the lower right looking like the proud Paterfamilias
and ever so slightly bemused.
Chosen by Carolyn:
This one touches my heart… Olivier has the most beautiful family, and he has done such a great job with this set of portraits….. and I can just see the soul shining behind every one of those eyes…. it’s all about the eyes…… AND… we get to see Olivier too

Nominated by Erik Lund:
“A very graphical strong capture smooth, tones, light and mood, the crooked signpost makes disorder and at the same time silence is screaming as the power lines surge energy into emptiness.”
Chosen by Kyle:
“Lots of good submission, and I narrowed it to Arthur’s landscape and Hans’ fog scene, both a fantastic photos in their own rights, but in the end I am drawn more to Hans’ eerie fog scene.”

“I am nominating ArachnospereII by Danijel simply because it is a brilliant photograph.”
Chosen by Marco:
“I wish that I had taken it with those rays of morning sunlight over the dewdrops that remind me of eggs laid by the spider..superb!”

Nominated by Jan Anne:
“Need I say more?”
Chosen by Dallas (standing in for dpowell):
“There are some excellent pics nominated this week, so it makes choosing one really hard. I am going to choose David Birdsong’s talcum powder photo because it’s something I haven’t seen before and is very well executed. Love the colours and the lighting.”

Nominated by Marco:
“composition, the steep sidewalk, the straight lines and the snapshot that he takes…just a good street photograph.”
Chosen by afx:
“I’ll go for Tuna’s street shot for all the Reasons that Marco stated.
The diagonal of the street that cuts through the image, the photographer that is on a horizontal line with the subject, his pose.”

Nominated by Carolyn:
“I just love it. More-so since Ron toned it down a smidge… So much to look at and wonder about. The wearer of the red gloves….. her choice of clothing and how she pulls it off. Or doesn’t. The *mysterious man* (you go Charlie
)… the Art Gallery… who’s coat is peaking in on the left side? … full of fun stuff.”
Chosen by esym:
“I’m going to have to go with Carolyn’s nomination of Ron’s Red Glove. This photo has certainly sparked a lot of interest here, and I like the intrigue, the mystery man in the hallway, the gold coffee cup (doesn’t everyone have one of these), her outfit and earring, and the interesting window display behind her. And I wonder whether this interesting lady wears a red glove on the left hand too!”

Nominated by Chris Fabbri:
“No words… ”
Selected by Stenrasmussen:
“The picture that deserves this week’s spot is Golunvolo’s “Open 24 hrs”.
Strong orthogonal lines in a 50’s car colour scheme combined with the organic form of the cheaky pose of the woman makes for a very good photo. Further, the words on the wall can be interpreted many ways
”

Nominated by afx:
“A perfect wedding shot in a non wedding series. I like the captured moment, a perfect candid and the PP.”
Chosen by Chris Fabbri:
“…my choice goes to Abdo’s image nominated by Andreas. The eye contact from bride and father, the smiles, the fast moment passing by on a street of Havana (Cuba) is something really special, and pp works pretty nice as well. Fantastic shot and congrats to Abdo.”
